He received national acclaim for his poignant, in-depth piece on Olympic gold medalist boxer David Reid, which appeared in May 2012 on Deadspin.com. In 2014, he was elected President of the Boxing Writers Association of America and took over the post 1 January 2015. In February 2015, his story on the website PhillyVoice.com on the smear campaign aimed at the Neumann-Goretti girl's basketball program, ranked No. 1 in the country, received national attention. On October 18, 2015, his story for PhillyVoice.com on the speech impediment Philadelphia Eagles running back Darren Sproles overcame, garnered local and national applause. On November 18, 2015, he wrote a story on the battle Showtime announcer Mauro Ranallo wages against bipolar disorder for Sherdog.com.
